Acrylic and solid polycarbonate signs
Commemorative, information and EU project signs.
We manufacture signs from plastics such as clear acrylic, solid-coloured acrylic, opal acrylic and solid polycarbonate.
Clear acrylic is available in thicknesses: 1,0 mm, 1,5 mm, 2,0 mm, 3,0 mm, 4,0 mm, 5,0 mm, 6,00 mm, 8,0 mm, 10,0 mm, 15.00 mm
Opal acrylic is available in thicknesses: 1.5 mm, 3,0 mm, 4,0 mm
Solid-coloured acrylic (e.g. white, black, red) is most commonly available in a thickness of 3,0 mm
Clear solid polycarbonate is available in thicknesses: 3,0 mm, 4,0 mm, 5,0 mm, 6,0 mm, 8,0 mm, 10,0 mm
These sheets are flat and rigid. They can be laser-cut (acrylic) or milled (solid polycarbonate).
Applications: acrylic is used indoors; solid polycarbonate is used outdoors as well as indoors.
Solid polycarbonate has additional UV protection, is more rigid and provides a good surface for UV printing thanks to its suitable electrostatic surface tension. The material can be treated as a glass substitute and can be drilled for mounting spacers and contour-milled. A milled edge is matt, but it can be mechanically polished when the edge is straight.
Laser-cut acrylic immediately has an attractive glossy edge, but its outdoor service life is much shorter than that of polycarbonate.
It is not suitable for mechanical drilling, so all shapes and holes should be made during laser cutting.
Graphics are produced by UV printing directly onto the material (UV printing on acrylic, UV printing on polycarbonate).
Installation is performed using mounting spacers, screws or direct fastening.
Sometimes the print is bonded to another material or framed, for example in a slim-profile aluminium frame or a square-profile frame.
